Winter Film Awards to host Iran doc ‘Meeting with the Leaf’

Iranian documentary ‘Meeting with the Leaf’ will be showcased at the 6th edition of the Winter Film Awards (WFA) in New York.

Directed by Fazlollah Tari, ‘Meeting with the Leaf’ tells the story of an elderly lady whose husband has passed away long time ago. She believes that his soul has been reincarnated in a mulberry tree that has grown up next to his grave. So she treats the tree just like her husband.

The film will be screened from February 23 to March 4.

Winter Film Awards is an all volunteer, minority and women-owned organization founded in 2011 in New York City by a group of filmmakers and enthusiasts. 

The mission of the festival to recognize excellence and diversity in cinema, with a special emphasis on supporting women and minority filmmakers.  We focus on nurturing emerging filmmakers from all genres from around the world.
